Belgian SFG

Here’s a collection of modern Belgian SOF types. Widely regarded as one of Europe’s most “tacticool” units, the SFG have, like everyone else on earth, adopted Multicam and Crye. The SFG seem to be very self-conscious of their status as “cool operators” and according to interviews with operators, there’s quite a culture of kit experimentation and “geardoism” within the unit.

  • Tends to be Crye JPCs (1.0 and 2.0) in tan and occasionally MC.
  • A nice mixture of HSGI TACOs and BFG Ten Speed pouches are used, in tan and MC, as well as a laundry list of other pouches in cool places.
  • Belt kits are on the heavier side, with lots of spare mags, IFAKs, etc carried to keep the PCs lighter.
  • “Dangler” pouches are common
  • I think it’s safe to say that shotgun scabbards are used more commonly in the SFG than in other Euro units

  • Fairly standard SCAR (L and H) setups, although some below seem to have played around quite a bit with “cool” setups.
  • Shotguns reasonably common
  • Pistols are FN Five SeveNs - good luck finding one in 1/6th, but if you do, let me know where!
