Incredibly Cool figure, although it feels like this should be relabeled as a St. Petersburg regional ROSN team operator, which is what I’m fairly sure they were going for. In the case of St. Petersburg, it would be the ROSN “Grad” unit I believe.

Interesting Figure with MICH 2000 Helmet and the woodland camo Uniform. The head is eally cool too. I am not into russian Figures but this one is nice.

very cool figure indeed. Saw this earlier. There is also a BBICN exclusive which has a tan vest and the DPM style uniform, but believe limited to only 500 :frowning:

I put my figure together and added both handguns, but I was wondering if this (and the DAM GIPN, who also comes with two handguns) was meant to have one or another added instead of both? If these are meant to have both, is one offensive and one defensive, or maybe a backup for the backup?

It’s meant with both. One dropleg holster and the MOLLE holster at the vest. I don’t know where it originates, but French units tend to have several handguns. Usually, one of them is a revolver. The Hot Toys GIGN Team Leader even carries 3 handguns. Russians, I don’t know.
With the F version, it would make sense as the PSS is silenced and Grach not. Grach and Glock with the classic one seems to make no difference to me.

I haven’t personally seen many photos of Spetsnaz operators doubling up on sidearms, and would guess the relevant pistol is more related to unit type than pragmatism. If the operator is a top tier officer within the FSB or SSO then the Glock would be the likeliest choice, as they remain the gold standard in the SF community and elite units are given much greater latitude in regards to equipping themselves. Although Glocks are common and produced in Russia, the MP443 would be the principal choice of sidearm for most lower level operators in the Rosgvardia/SOBR community as well as army GRU, primarily for propagandistic reasons, showcasing domestic industrial self reliance. This figure was inaccurately released by Dam! as an FBS Alfa operator, but should more realistically be classified as a member of St. Petersburg’s Rosgvardia “SOBR Granit” unit, so I would guess the MP443 is the more realistic choice of pistol.

Thanks a million! This is great information… I’ve doubled up on a couple of Russian figures (SSO and the MultiCam FSB) to display together and it is helpful to know how to differentiate them from each other while still remaining relatively accurate.

Although I agree that Alpha is not an accurate title for this figure, wouldn’t it most likely be St. Petersburg ROSN UFSB, aka “Grad” - the regional FSB tactical unit? The photoset that this figure is based on (see below - M81 or “LES” camo, low-profile Defenders, and SMGs) depict Grad FSB officers. And the kit that doesn’t fit (the helmet and Camelbak vest) are all items used by FSB in other settings.
