This is a disgrace. If someone wants to tackle this kind of theme, at least do it like DAM with the Titan. Same letdown like their KSK. Wonder how they managed to put together an okay PLA Snow Leopard figure.

I wouldn’t be so mad about it, when it would be only a pathetic figure, but selling this for full price and using leftovers from other companies and then putting it together like the most mediocre kitbash is not right. Might also hurt this hobby in general!

I think the problem here is you have a factory OEM trying to make their own product without doing any of the research that a brand normally does. It’s not uncommon for them to retain the rights to a certain design or mold by giving a discount to their customers so not surprised to see some familiar parts. This same factory produces the Very Cool line of female military figures along as several other brands of female figure product and used to produce Caltek. The Very Cool line has used many of the Caltek molds. In this case it is clear they are trying to copy DAM’s theme. Same thing with their KSK figure and Soldier Story. Just comes off as a lazy attempt to make a product and you get lots of amateur mistakes.

Soldier Story was said to have changed factories some time ago due to leaks of their project and we see their Flagset announce a similar figure on the same day as Soldier Story. This factory produced for Soldier Story in the past (same fabric/patterns as Soldier Story, existing relationship with Caltek, Soldier Story’s distributor). DAM retooled all of their bodies last year, hinting at a change in OEMs as well, and we have seen similar projects from Flagset. Makes me wonder if we aren’t seeing these figures due to business disputes/competition. If that is the case I don’t think Soldier Story or DAM have anything to worry about.

I thought about this and have to say I reacted a bit overexaggerated. It’s true that DAM and Soldier Story don’t suffer from that so much. They still do quality figures and are on top of the military hobby. I also somehow appreciate now that other brands try to enter in this market. It’s in the end more variety given. I mean some people like Flagset and Leotoys, even when it’s only about monetary reasons or kitbashing. Much better than a year ago where I thought Soldier Story is out of military buisness and DAM was the only company that really delivered!

Official box art for this one.

Still never bothered to run the jacket through spellcheck:

The future of fire arms corporate sponsorship:

A special figure needs special treatment

It’s really a wonder they managed to preview these quite nice Chinese figures, when having a look at this.

I like your theory. Let’s see who of Flagset is the language specialist here!

Some of these could be also Icelandic. These languages are even closer then I knew so far.

Is the jacket the same one from the SS SAD 2.0 figure? If so, how can I remove the writing on the hood?
