Interesting to see 6.8mm get some more attention.
It looks like they are going to commit to it. On a level much like the 7.62 NATO and 5.56 NATO rounds, it seems. The prolonged conflicts since 9/11 included quite a few commercial and “wildcat” cartridges being provided to specialized shooters in Western forces. Their effectiveness and the funding available meant versatility - unlike the post-WW2 debate and politicking to standardize the two NATO rounds.
